SIMBA ARE KEEN TO STRENGTHEN THEIR GOALKEEPING DEPARTMENT AND CONSIDERS K'OGALO'S BONIFACE OLUOCH AS BEST OPTION BEFORE TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSES...
Tanzanian giants Simba SC are on the trail of Gor Mahia goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch.
Simba are keen to strengthen their goalkeeping department and consider Oluoch their best option. The team is keen to have talks with the player when Gor Mahia travels to Tanzania for the regional Cecafa Kagame Cup.
“We are closely monitoring him (Oluoch) and are keen to make a move for his services before our transfer window closes at the end of July. If not we will make another bid for him in the January transfer window," a source at the Tanzanian club exclusively told Goal on Tuesday.
Simba are known to have deep pockets and it remains doubtful whether Gor Mahia will resist a good offer to sell the player. Since joining Gor Mahia from Tusker, Oluoch has been impressive in goal and has managed to relegate team captain Jerim Onyango to the bench.
Gor Mahia have been pooled in Group ‘A’ of the regional showpiece alongside Tanzanian powerhouse Yanga, Al- Khartoum (Sudan), Telecom (Somalia) and KMKM (Zanzibar) and departs for Dar on Thursday.
K’Ogalo are scheduled to begin their quest for a fourth title on Saturday at the National Stadium in Dar against Yanga, in what is expected to be an explosive clash if the banter between the two sets of fans on social media is anything to go by.
Group A: Yanga (Tanzania), Gor Mahia (Kenya), Khartoum (Sudan), Telecom (Somalia), KMKM (Zanzibar), Group B: APR (Rwanda), Al Shandy (Sudan), LLB (Burundi), Elman (Somalia) and Group C: Azam (Tanzania), Malakia (South Sudan), KCC (Uganda), Adama City (Ethiopia).
